Mehdi holds a B.Sc. degree in biomedical engineering from Tehran Polytechnic (2002), an M.Sc. degree in biomedical engineering from University of Tehran (2004), and a PhD degree in computing science from Simon Fraser University, Vancouver, Canada (2009). He has since served as an MSFHR research associate at the University of British Columbia (UBC), a research scientist at Canada's Michael Smith Genome Sciences Centre, and as head of bioinformatics at the UBC biomedical research centre. He is also one of the team leaders to develop the Epigenomic Data Coordination Centre for Canada (EDCC). In 2017, he moved to LMS as the new head of bioinformatics.
Gopu is a Senior Bioinformatician in the core. He has an engineering degree in Biotechnology from India and more than a decade of experience in analysing complex biological data, spanning industry and academia. He started his career as a programmer analyst at Genotypic Technology (India) and later moved to Italy to work at TIGEM (Naples) as Bioinformatician. He joined LMS in 2011 and has since contributed to variety of research projects. His research interest includes integrating omics data, interactive visualisation, reproducible research and establishing workflows.
Yi-Fang joined the MRC LMS bioinformatics team in August 2015, after working for the Systems Biology centre at the University of Warwick as a bioinformatician since September 2012. Before that, she completed her PhD in the Biological Sciences department at the University of Warwick, where she performed in vivo experiments, in silico data analysis and computational simulations (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/22063267).
Sanjay holds a M.Tech in Biotechnology from Anna University, India (2003) and a joint MSc. Informatics degree from University of Edinburgh, Scotland and University of Trento, Italy (2008). After working as a Bioinformatician at University College London, UK for two and half years, he joined MRC London Institute of Medical Sciences in June 2011.
Marian joined the MRC LMS Genomics Core in 2011, later (2015) joining the Bioinformatics team. Marian holds a B.Sc. degree in computer science from University of Windsor, Canada and a MSc in Bioinformatics from Cranfield University (2010).
